Summary

The present work considers some aspects of one of the types of specialized tourism, namely – the cultural-historical tourism, and it’s development in Bulgaria. There is made a definition that this kind of tourism is a multidisciplinary branch, which is close connected with other science branches – such as economy, sociology, history, demography, sustainable territorial development, etc An attempt is made, also, for juxtaposition and comparison with other neighbour countries on the Balkans. Except for the geographical proximity and rich experience, this choice for comparison is determined by the fact that most of the cultures and civilizations that emerged on the Balkan Peninsula have left similar monuments in all these countries exactly due to this geographical neighbourhood, common historical destiny and possession of a diverse natural and cultural-historical potential.
